Science of Spirits Tasting Event

Previously a Fall event, a redesign of the art and language for a Valentine’s Day focus, resulted in a 52% increase in ticket sales in 2020, resulting in a record-breaking, sold out event.

With a subtle nod to Valentine's day, colors and scientific illustrations were used to showcase flavors and ingredients thus emphasizing the museum’s promise of a more scientific approach to the tasting experience. Since glassware, bottle shape and color of liquid vary greatly across different liquors, designing a logo that was all encompassing was a challenge. My decision to use a flask as the illustrative vessel not only achieved this goal, but added the desired air of mystery to our speakeasy atmosphere.

Tasting Guide

After attending our previous tasting events, I observed the need for a reference guide for your experience. I proposed and created a custom tasting guide encouraging guests to further interact with the distillery (flavor profile notes) as well as having a place to mark their favorites to later purchase in our event store. After this guide was developed, we saw a great uptick in liquor sales at our store.
